If the key is lost rather than locked inside, this is not the right call. None of these is done:
- No key cutting and no copying of keys, for any lock.
- No spare or extra keys of any kind: house, gate, garage, letterbox or storeroom.
- No car keys at all: none cut, supplied, replaced or programmed.
- No transponder chips and no remote fobs for vehicles.
- No repairs to ignition switches or ignition barrels.
- No keys for motorbikes, scooters or vans.
Where it happens

At the edge of the pinada. Cars do not go into the pine forest, so they are left at its edge while people walk to the beaches through the trees, and the keys are sometimes left in the car rather than carried.
By the beach. Eleven kilometres of it, from El Rebollo north of the river mouth to Les Ortigues on the line with Torrevieja. Keys go in a bag, the bag goes in the boot, the boot shuts.
At the port. The Marina de las Dunas sits at the mouth of the Segura, with boats, bags and keys moving between car and pontoon.
At home. In a garage or a drive in El Raso or the urbanizations, where the car locks itself while the shopping is being carried in.

Registration document, rental agreement or insurance, and an ID. Asked for before the car is touched.

Drivers locked out of their car ask
The keys are locked in the car and the car is a hire car. Who do I ring?
Ring the hire company first: many include roadside help and may send their own. If they cannot come or it will take hours, ring here, with the rental agreement on your phone to show the car is yours to drive.
Can you make me a new key if I have lost the only one?
No. Car keys are never cut, supplied, replaced or programmed here. If the key is lost rather than locked inside, you need the car’s main dealer or a specialist in car keys.
Will opening it set off the alarm or mark the paintwork?
The alarm may sound briefly, and stops when the key inside is used. The door is opened with tools made for the job, without forcing the frame or touching the paint.
The car is unlocked, but the key is inside the boot that has shut. Is that the same job?
Usually it is simpler: once a door is open, the boot release inside the car often does the rest. Say on the phone which part is shut and where the key is.
